Job Purpose

Advance the American Bible Society mission of Scripture access and life-changing impact by providing project and program management for engage.americanbible.org. The position drives ABS shift from print to digital paradigm aimed at ABS next generation audience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic support and oversight of comprehensive digital program management for engage.americanbible.org and search.americanbible.org.
  • Manage content, operations, and ongoing improvements to web property and associated ABS Bible Engagement Tools (BETs).
  • Work with ITS and Marketing to ensures online analytics are properly collecting, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Compile reports and presentations to update stakeholders about BETs and ENGAGE web activities.
  • Assist in opening new channels by ensuring effective integration of BETs into church and partner audiences while ensuring coordination with ABS units.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements, milestones, and life impact goals. Ensures projects are in line with ABS best practices and properly managed.
  • Develop processes and framework to capture ongoing digital life impact metrics and coordinates with others in cases where digital projects overlap. Optimize and automate willingness, understanding, and action process.
  • Monitor and answers incoming stakeholder requests and update audience(s) on progress via blog posts and/or other internal and external communication vehicles.
  • Meet regularly with Director, Digital Development to ensure priorities are in line with corporate goals. Conducts research as needed to support business and ministry goals and objectives.

  • Able to maintain focus and meet objectives and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Technologically savvy with ability to work in undefined/uncharted territories. Ability to think through anticipated issues and liaison with personnel ranging from Sr. Management to front line administrative staff.
  • Able to liaise with internal staff, external vendors, and various partnership organizations with a spirit of grace, diplomacy, and collegiality.
  • Strong communication skills that can communicate with external customers, manage vendors, and coordinate with strategic partners.
  • Quick learner, self motivated, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Ability to understand the big picture and come up with creative solutions.

Education and/or Training

  • 5-7 years of experience in project/program management, specifically in Web and/or software development.
  • Bachelorâ��s degree or equivalent related experience in relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with mobile technologies, web2.0 audiences, and other emerging technologies.
  • Understanding of the American church, and bring an ecumenical perspective in dealing with churches and religious organizations.
  • Experience managing, overseeing, and coordinating with partners and vendors responsible for technology initiatives and marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing budgets and contractual issues.
  • Prior experience or interest in online Bible search or technology search fields.
  • Seminary or theological training would also be helpful.

Working Conditions

Located in Chantilly, VA. Travel including but not limited to team meetings, vendor meetings, industry conferences and coordination with ABS headquarters.
