"As a 35-year employee of the Bible Society, I've enjoyed the daily interaction with people: with customers, about our varied Scripture products; in supervising staff, as we work together and form close bonds; with my wife, Dorothea, whom I met at the Bible Society and married some 30 years ago.

"In 1991, when I was asked to manage the entire building, and later, in 1995, leading the Bible House renovation, I was always reminded that the facility's operations relied on people: staff, engineers, security guards, housekeeping personnel, construction workers, visitors and tenants. Even as I oversee Bible House's status as a good neighbor in the Columbus Circle area, I constantly meet with the local people: Lincoln Square Business Improvement District members, Neighborhood Center, Community Board and synagogue representatives, local police, among others.
