Adding the American Bible Society to Your Will

Donors Lived Simply
When Ernest E. Reeves died last May, at age 92, his neighbors had no idea that the retired farmer and his wife had given millions to the American Bible Society through gift annuities and matching gifts for the Opportunity 21 program-the most comprehensive scripture distribution project in history. They were, in fact, the largest donors in Bible Society history.

Example Bequest Language
Here are samples of simple bequest language to include the American Bible Society in your Will:
- For a specific dollar amount:
"I bequeath $10,000 to the American Bible Society." - For a bequest of property:
"I bequeath my IBM stock (or, perhaps, my personal residence) to the American Bible Society." - For a bequest of a percentage of value (certain share) of the estate:
"I bequeath and devise all of my estate as follows: 27% to the American Bible Society, 25% to..." - For a residual bequest of the balance of the estate after all other goals are carried out:
"I bequeath and devise all the residue and remainder of my estate to the American Bible Society."
