Job Purpose

The Associate Application Administrator will support and maintain multiple critical applications utilized by American Bible Society. The administrator will develop expertise in Great Plains Dynamics, SharePoint, Blackbaud, Drupal, enterprise integration software, and other key American Bible Society applications. The Application Administrator will provide second level support and will interface directly with the business functions utilizing each of these applications. You will also assist in the implementation of application integrations, maintain the PCI and PCI security of these applications, monitor, and measure the performance of applications, and directly develop, configure, and train users on the features within these applications. In this role, you will advance the mission, brand, and growth potential of American Bible Society through the innovative and impactful use of technology. This position reports to the Systems Engineering Senior Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interact with American Bible Society business users to ensure enterprise applications are performing optimally
  • Engage with server and network team, application vendors, and support vendors to minimize application outages
  • Utilize development and database skills to develop customizations and integrations to maximize the utility of all American Bible Society applications
  • Use scripting and development expertise to implement tools, and monitor application and database environments to prevent and eliminate potential performance issues
  • Document, maintain, and enforce that applications with credit card and personal data are maintained to appropriate Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Personal Information (PI) standards
  • Maintain application security by implementing, documenting, and enforcing security policies around users, groups, and environment
  • Document, support and maintain SharePoint sites and business applications
  • Document, support, and maintain Great Plains Dynamics and CRM implementations
  • Coordinate in the development of training materials, and train end users in all aspects of their daily use of these enterprise applications
  • Take a lead role in the development of standards, ensuring that standards are followed by the end user community
  • Document, support, and maintain internet, and ecommerce implementations
  • Self-manage and report on open tasks and requirements to complete work in a timely manner with emphasis on quality deliverables with minimal defects
  • Recognize system deficiencies and implement effective solutions
  • Accept and provide feedback on all work efforts, and proactively engage with internal and external team members to achieve optimal solutions

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Passion for the Bible cause and its ability to impact lives
  • Fervent belief in the mission of American Bible Society
  • 3+ years of experience supporting business critical enterprise applications
  • 1+ years of enterprise level Great Plains Dynamics experience is strongly desired
  • 1+ years of SharePoint 365 experience is strongly desired
  • Strong background and/or certifications in security management of applications that manage PCI and PI data
  • 1+ year of experience with SQL Server support is required, and 1+ year of MySQL database is desired
  • Experience in project management and change management in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to write technical documentation for related applications and software
  • Experience with application tuning and performance management is required
  • Experience with data warehouse development and concepts is a plus
  • Experience with web/mobile data analytics gathering is a plus
  • Experience with unit and visual regression testing is a plus

Education and/or Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Systems, or equivalent experience.
