Rob Smith serves as Director of Planned Gifts and has worked faithfully for American Bible Society for over 18 years. He has also been in the positions of National Field Supervisor, as well as Regional Director in our department. During the time Rob was National Field Supervisor, he led the Planned Giving field staff during five successful years. Previous to his time at American Bible Society Rob worked in similar positions with The Salvation Army and the University of Missouri. He also has experience as a Financial Planner, as well as work in real estate and other areas of business. Rob was raised on a farm in southern Missouri and is married with three grown children and two grandchildren.

Dan Leeman is a Regional Advisor for American Bible Society. He serves financial partners in 29 states, and specializes in charitable estate planning and planned giving. Dan's office is based in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

God has blessed Dan, who is a licensed attorney, with a 40+ year career that includes: 8+ years with American Bible Society; 15 years with Lutheran Church Missouri Synod International headquarters in St Louis; 12 years with Boy Scouts of America, National Office in Dallas, Texas; and 5 years in development consulting.

Dan and his beloved wife, Jeanie, have three adult children and are members of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, MO. Dan volunteers for Concordia, as well as for the Greater St. Louis Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and Family Shield Ministries.

Dan Dorrill is a Philanthropic Advisor with the American Bible Society. He joined the American Bible Society in June, 2007, with experience in both the private sector and the non-profit arena.

His ministry focus is helping givers find creative ways of supporting ministry by using assets other than cash, estate planning and charitable giving techniques, and comprehensive gift planning.

Dan's nonprofit experience prior to joining American Bible Society includes having served as a Vice President of Development for an international mission's organization in the Atlanta, GA area. He served for 15 years as a trustee for a private Christian college, spending most of those years on the development committee. He has also has held volunteer leadership roles in three capital campaigns; two with churches and one with a Christian college.

He began his professional career in 1987 as a life insurance agent and financial advisor, and for more than twenty years served highly affluent clients in the areas of business succession planning, estate planning, investments and retirement plans.

Dan is a CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), receiving his designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA, in 1991. He is a past president of the American Society of CLUs/ChFCs, Chattanooga Chapter, and a past president of the Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga, TN. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree from North Texas State University (UNT) in 1986, where he majored in Jazz Studies and Sociology.

In his spare time, Dan is a performing jazz musician. He and his family enjoy living in the mountains of Southeast Tennessee and spending time with their horses.

James is a new regional advisor for the American Bible Society to financial partners in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. He has worked with charitable organizations since 1994 and been a charitable planner since 1998. His focus will be to help ABS financial partners meet their estate, financial and tax planning needs utilizing philanthropy. James lives in Auburn, AL with his wife of 22 years and two sons.

Reverend Thomas J. Trageser currently serves as a Gift Planning and Innovative Partnership Advisor for American Bible Society. He is also developing innovative ways to create new streams of ministry revenue.

Tom recently was the Director of Corporate and Government Relations at Stetson University (SU). Tom was invited to join the SU development team to build a new Corporate and Government Relations area. Within the corporate and government relations program, Tom’s two primary responsibilities were to identify & secure new streams of revenue and to coordinate the campus-wide conversation with corporations and government entities.

While Tom was only at Stetson for 17 months, he’s a 22+ year veteran of planned and major giving in the non-profit development world. Previously, Tom was the Senior Church Development Liaison/Regional Development Director for American Bible Society in New York City and Director of Development for Planned and Major Giving at Simpson University in northern California. For 35 years, Tom has continually volunteered and served as a church planter.

Tom received his formal training at the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary. Tom is also a GALLUP® Certified Strengths Coach and an ASC™ EYS Faith Performance Coach. He holds a Theology degree from Toccoa Falls College.

Tom and Lora Lee, his wife of 30 years, have a son, Ross, and a daughter, Morgan. They live in Port Orange, Florida.
