Our History

ABS has a rich history that has spanned nearly 200 years. Highlights include hosting the first Bible Sunday in 1915, producing the first audio recording of Scripture in 44 languages in 1957 and publishing the Good New Translation in 1976 and the Contemporary English version in 1991.
