In Ukraine, Bible Society leader Anatoliy can often be found at the frontlines ministering to soldiers from Scripture. He and his staff risk their lives to distribute the life-transforming Bibles and aid you help provide.
Viktor, a soldier who has been on active duty since the beginning of the war, never went to church or read a Bible because he
never had one. He recently told Anatoliy about the impact of the Bible he was given:
“Here, at the combat positions, in short moments of silence, I started reading prayers from the Book of Psalms, as you
advised. I feel warmth inside me while reading. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I realized that it was God who came to me, a sinner, at the age of 57. He came here, to the swamp, to the horrors of the war, to find me.”
Since the war began, soldiers like Viktor, as well as civilians, have faced death on a regular basis, and hundreds of thousands of men, women, children, and the elderly have been killed or wounded.
Thank you for faithfully giving so that our brothers and sisters there can have the peace and hope that only Jesus Christ can give — even in the midst of a terrible war. Lives and eternities are being transformed by God’s Word in Ukraine and beyond.
