The Bible Transforms our Lives
As God’s Word takes root in those who read it, it begins to transform hearts, minds, and life as we know it. It leads to a deeper relationship with God and nurtures our faith as we hear about the steadfast love and plans God has for us. Scripture’s values become a core part of our lives, and our outlook on the world, our neighbors, and our purpose shifts. And through the practice of faithfully engaging with Scripture, we receive Christ’s promise of abundant life (John 10:10). Inspired by the Bible’s message and empowered by the work of God in their lives, men and women of faith have loved their neighbors by planting churches, building hospitals, pioneering education, feeding the hungry, caring for the poor, and leading the fight for civil rights. From the birth of Christianity until today, bold believers have put their lives at risk to transform the world by sharing the Gospel. And for the past 200 years, faithful Christians have partnered with organizations like American Bible Society to share the light of Scripture with those still longing to experience the life-changing power of God’s Word.
The Bible Gives us Peace
God’s Word offers eternal hope for our future, but it also holds the answers to questions we face each day. In Scripture we find hope in the midst of our broken and suffering world. We see God’s heart for people who are lost, grieving, and fearful. And we find supernatural peace that is sufficient throughout all of our struggles (John 14:27). Whether we are anxious about everyday worries like finances, work, and relationships, or walking through the dark valleys of illness, sorrow, or doubt, we can use the words of Scripture to shape our prayers and comfort our hearts.
The Bible Points us to our Savior
At the heart of the Bible is God’s work of salvation through His only Son, Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, we see a redemption story that offers the only true cure for the brokenness that separates us from God (Romans 3:23). Christ’s perfect life, sacrificial death, and triumphant resurrection guarantee that everyone who believes in Him will receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16) and will be welcomed into God’s family (John 1:12-13). His coming return will complete this beautiful story of salvation and will put an end to sin, suffering, and death forever (Hebrews 9:28). This Good News is for every single person, and we savor the joy of salvation as we read God’s Word and meditate on the miracle of our Savior’s love for us.
