Without a Bible of her own, Lydia* cherished the only two verses of Scripture she was able to memorize. But, she shares, “I felt like I did not know much about God. Honestly, I was far away from His Word.” Growing up in an extremely poor village in Uganda where Bibles are scarce, Lydia recalls, “I wanted a Bible for so long . . . and I always prayed to God to enable me to get one.”
Friends like you helped answer Lydia’s prayers the day the local Bible Society visited her school and gave her the Bible she’d longed for. She was overwhelmed with delight and gratitude, saying, “It means that God does really care about me, and I am His beloved!”
Lydia is growing in her faith as she reads, noting, “My personal devotions are interesting because I have the Word to read — whenever or wherever I like, without any limitations!”
