They care for the sick. Stock our supermarket shelves. Pick up our trash. Clean our buildings. Deliver our groceries and packages. Prepare our food. And keep us safe.
They are the COVID-19 frontline heroes.
These brave workers continue to serve others despite the health risk. Without them, we would be without the most essential services needed to live. But as this pandemic rages on, many frontline workers are experiencing anxiety, burnout, and trauma.
Jesus offers strength to the weary and joy to the downcast. The Bible reminds us of his care in Nahum 1:7, “The Lord is good; he protects his people in times of trouble; and take cares of those who turn to him.”
Join us as we pray for God to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those on the front lines of the global pandemic.
Here are 4 ways you can pray for frontline workers. Pray for:
- Protection. Ask God to protect frontline workers from being infected by the COVID-19 virus.
“The Lord will protect you and keep you safe from all dangers. The Lord will protect you now and always wherever you go.” – Psalm 121:7-8
- Strength and endurance. Ask God to strengthen them as they work long hours and battle exhaustion.
“But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.” – Isaiah 40:31
- Healing. Ask God to heal trauma, anxiety, and depression and to replace it with his peace. Pray for healing for workers recovering from the virus.
“Lord, heal me and I will be completely well; rescue me and I will be perfectly safe. You are the one I praise!” – Jeremiah 17:14
- Comfort. Ask God to comfort them as they spend time separated from their families or in quarantine due to exposure to the virus.
“Let your constant love comfort me, as you have promised me, your servant.” – Psalm 119:76
