A life of torment nearly destroyed Raja*.
He was raised in an orthodox Hindu family in Asia. After he married and had a family of his own, he continued the tradition of worshipping idols. However, Raja and his family felt plagued by oppressive spirits. It became so bad that he spent a great deal of money on rituals, sacrifices, and even witch doctors in vain attempts to ward off the evil in their home.
Eventually, Raja turned to alcohol to try and numb his pain, but it only worsened his downward spiral of depression. His hopelessness became so intense that he was contemplating suicide.

One day, when Raja was lying on the street in a drunken stupor, a volunteer from the local Bible Society stopped to talk to him. After listening to Raja’s story, they prayed and shared the Gospel with him. Their meeting so encouraged Raja that he invited them to come to his home. After telling Raja’s entire family about salvation through Jesus Christ, the Bible Society member gave them a Bible in their heart language to help them learn more.
Raja’s entire family surrendered their lives to Jesus and were baptized! After they destroyed all the idols in their home, they were completely free of the oppressive spiritual attacks that had ruled their lives.
Now, Raja and his family members joyfully share their testimony with others in the village — and three more families nearby have chosen to follow Jesus!
