Divorce rates country-wide have reached an all-time high in Bolivia; it's nearly doubled since 2002. The Bolivian Bible Society (SBB) is equipping Catholic and Protestant churches with biblical materials to strengthen pastoral and counseling services for married and engaged couples for 24 months. The SBB is also equipping priests and pastors at 400 churches with biblical resources to strengthen their counseling and discipleship programs for marrieds and their families. The causes for divorce are physical or psychological mistreatment, adultery, abandonment, insult and separation for over two years.
