As the church in China continues to experience exponential growth, the lack of trained ministry leaders has reached a crisis level. One minister there describes the situation as having too many sheep without a shepherd, noting, “Whenever I visit rural churches, I come across many Christians who are not clear about their beliefs, making them susceptible to the lure of cult groups.”
Thankfully, men and women like Cheng* and his wife, Jing*, are responding to God’s call to become equipped for ministry. However, like them, many ministry leaders in China are from very poor rural villages and can’t afford the training materials needed for seminary school.
