You’re helping our Chinese brothers and sisters grow in their faith as they engage with Scripture.
For a farmer like Qian*, a debilitating back injury can be devastating. Already struggling financially, Qian had no means to hire help, and hardly anyone in his village could lend a hand.
In pain and losing hope, Qian recalls being visited by some Christians who shared the Gospel message with him.
“I believed in Jesus and slowly came to know a little more about God,” he shares. Soon after, his back injury began to heal, and he was once again able to work his farm.
Qian continued to believe and longed to know more about his Savior — but it was 17 years before he received a Bible of his own.
Deeply grateful to finally have a new Bible, Qian began reading it regularly. He says, “Without the words of the Bible, we cannot understand things that happen in our lives. God guides us in all things. From the Bible, I can find comfort and help, and God is the one I can rely on.”
Spending time in God’s Word has helped Qian grow in his faith and learn to trust the Lord during difficult trials. Now, he says, “I know that everything is in God’s hands, with His guidance and goodwill.”
Qian has also noticed changes in his personality since receiving his Bible. He is no longer as impatient with his children and doesn’t lose his temper often.
