May is National Trauma Awareness Month. Established in 1988 by Ronald Reagan, this month is dedicated to increasing education about trauma and raising awareness about prevention activities.
To that end, we want to share with you a ministry that is helping traumatized children and teens heal from trauma they’ve endured. Did you know, in the U.S. alone, nearly half of the nation’s children, 35 million, have experienced one or more types of trauma, according to the National Survey of Children’s Health.
But God’s Word offers the peace and comfort they are seeking.
In this episode of the Prayer Snapshot, we invited Dr. Margi McCombs, senior training manager on our Trauma Healing Team at American Bible Society, to share about a wonderful ministry called Bible-based Trauma Healing Ministry. Trauma Healing Ministry offers biblical and practical resources and age-appropriate activities to help children and teens address and express their feelings. Each participant of the program is given an opportunity to bring their pain to Jesus their healer.
Tune in to this episode to learn more about Bible-based Trauma Healing Ministry and how your prayers can help children and teens find healing in God’s Word.
