Life in rural Liberia was very difficult for Amos*. He had no electricity, no running water, and no way to understand the truth of the Bible.
His business struggled, and he found himself constantly in debt, often selling personal possessions to make ends meet.
So, when a friend invited him to an audio Bible listening session, Amos was excited. He had seen the effect God’s Word had on his friend, and he wanted that for himself too.
Soon after, Amos received his very first Bible, thanks to friends of American Bible Society like you. He became immersed in Scripture and shared it with his family.
“Receiving the Bible was a joyful moment for me and my family,” he remembers. “It means a lot to me to be able to read the Bible and share the Word of God with others.
“Through the Bible, I was able to give my life to Christ,” Amos says. “The Bible influences my life in many ways, and I am changed. In Him I have a new direction for my life that has improved my family and my business.”
Because of our partners’ support, people like Amos and his family can know the joy found in the Bible.
