2020 has been a year full of challenges, but Chakma, and Marma, speaking Christians in southeastern Bangladesh have reason for celebration: the publication of Scripture in their languages!
They are among the country’s 45 different ethnic groups. While most of the 350,000 Chakma people practice Buddhism, and the majority of the 200,000 Marma speakers are Hindus, Christians in Bangladesh are celebrating their new translations. While a traditional launch event wasn’t possible, a dedication service was held on Zoom and attended by more than 50 church leaders and believers from both communities.
Thank you to our friends for providing these new translations to introduce those in Bangladesh to their Heavenly Father. Please join us in praying that God uses these translations to reach the hearts of more people in Bangladesh.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
– John 1:1 GNT
