For the 150,000 Yinzebi speakers in Gabon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the wait for a full Bible in their heart language is almost over.
This translation has been especially difficult for translators for many reasons. Yinzebi has no established linguistic rules, and the community’s culture sometimes lacks context for references in Scripture.
For example, Yinzebi speakers live off hunting alone, so exploring aspects like harvests and crops posed difficulties. Despite the challenges, exacerbated by COVID-19, strong collaboration has allowed Bible Society translators to persevere and ensure the translation meets the needs of the Yinzebi-speaking people.
The project is on schedule for completion in December 2021.
Please join us in prayer for the successful completion of this translation and for all those whose hearts will be touched by God through His Word.
