Every soldier going into battle needs equipment: a uniform, helmet, gun, communication device, dog tags. But members of the military also need spiritual equipment, Bibles of their very own.
During the Veterans Day season, American Bible Society is launching a campaign to send boxes of Bibles to troops in the military. These Bibles are specially designed for military members and contain Bible reading guides, links to online Scripture resources and highlighted passages.
Right now the demand for Bibles is great, but chaplains don't have a budget to purchase them. That's why ABS is committed to providing Bibles and Bible study materials free of charge to all military chaplains who request them.
Retired Chaplain and Executive Director of ABS's Armed Services Ministry Arthur Pace recalled a time when his unit faced a sudden deployment. He contacted ABS for Bibles to distribute to his unit members, and the materials arrived almost immediately. Soon, he was placing the Bibles in the hands of soldiers who were thankful to have the Word of God with them on their journey.
It only costs $5 to put a military Bible in the hands of a serviceman or woman. Help give Bibles to our military by visiting Troops.AmericanBible.org today.
