to people in the U.S. prison system. In 2017, American Bible
Society partnered with Good News Jail and Prison Ministry to
train prison chaplains in Bible-based trauma healing ministry,
which combines Scripture’s restorative message with mental
health best practices. Now Christ’s love is changing lives in
some of the most hopeless places in our nation.
This new ministry partnership meets a vital need as
97 percent of incarcerated women and 75 percent of incarcerated
men experienced trauma prior to their incarceration.

break cycles of trauma, violence, and incarceration, bringing
hope and a future to hurting inmates across the United States.
