Thanks to you, the very first Muong Bible translation has reached waiting hands and hearts in Vietnam!
Linh* is part of the indigenous Muong people group living in the mountainous regions of northern Vietnam. The Muong are traditionally animists, worshiping ancestral spirits and deities. There has never been a Muong translation of the Bible . . . until now.
Faithful partners like you have helped make it possible to place God’s Word into the waiting hands and hearts of the Muong people, introducing them to the Gospel message and faith in Jesus!
In 2010, Linh’s son was working in Malaysia, and he would often call to tell her about the Christian community there. Eventually, Linh became a believer through his testimony, and she began to read the Bible in Vietnamese. It was the only translation available to her at the time, and while it was difficult for her to understand, she faithfully persisted.
“Last year, I was given a new copy of the New Testament in the Muong language,” Linh shares. “I was so grateful for it. Since our church now has the Muong Bible . . . people are more engaged reading and hearing Scripture in their heart language.”
Linh wants the elders of her community to receive the Gospel in their heart language before it is too late. “We think that with this copy of the New Testament in the Muong language, we can witness to them more effectively as they can understand the Muong language better than Vietnamese,” she explains.
Because of your generosity, the Muong people now have the Bible translated and distributed in their heart language for the very first time in their history! It’s helping them understand the Gospel message and come to know Christ as their Savior.
