Roughly 4 million indigenous people live in the remote jungles and mountain regions of Peru. Faithful partners like you are helping to make the Gospel message available to them in their heart languages.
Alejandra* longed to know more about God for many years. “When I heard the audio Bible speak my [Quechua Ayacucho] language, I cried with excitement,” she says. “Now, I can continue to listen to God’s Word while I am in the field taking care of my little sheep and llamas.” Alejandra tells people at the market what she has learned, noting, “I want to share with them this happiness of knowing God.”
At 13 years old, Matias* used to be quiet and reserved. That changed after his friends invited him to attend a Bible listening group, where he was also given his first printed Bible and other Scripture resources for youth. “I have never received such beautiful books in my Quechua language. For me it is the best gift,” he exclaims. “My dream is to become a pastor and visit our communities to teach people how to read with the Words of Jesus.”
For years, Christina* prayed for Scripture materials in their language that she could share with the children she teaches in church each week. She was overjoyed to receive the Matsigenka-language audio Bible. “I cried because I felt that God loved us, and He had answered our prayer,” she shares. Her students enjoy listening to the message and learning about Jesus.
Because of your generosity, many isolated people groups in remote areas of Peru and beyond are receiving Bibles in their heart language. Now, they can understand the Gospel message, place their faith in Jesus, and eagerly share the hope of God’s Word with their families and neighbors. Thank you!
