Intently peeking over my shoulder, the woman seated next to me on the train asked, “Excuse me, what are you reading?”
“The Bible,” I responded. Curious to learn more, she began a conversation. Our 20-minute train ride revealed she had never read the Bible. It also revealed the deep life questions she had, a longing for answers, and an uncertainty about where to turn.
She’s not alone.
The latest State of the Bible research shows that although Americans have mixed feelings about the Bible and Jesus, 73% are curious and want to know more. What an incredible opportunity to point them to the way, the truth, and the life! But how can we get Americans to take a closer look to what God’s Word has to say?
An Invitation to Look Inside the Bible
American Bible Society created
Look Inside to invite millions of curious people, like the woman on the train, to explore the Bible and find solutions to life’s challenges.
The website uses Scripture and videos to answer common questions like:
- Where does the Bible come from?
- Does modern science disprove the Bible?
- What does the Bible say about emotions like anger and sadness?
And it doesn’t stop there. People using Look Inside can type in questions to find out what the Bible says about almost any topic, including pornography, relationships, politics, immigration, and more.
We pray that Look Inside will be a tool that gets people excited about exploring the Bible. We pray that the power of Scripture will transform lives and make new followers of Jesus. Will you join us?
Let’s Pray Together:
God, thank you for your precious Word—a lamp to guide our feet and a light to direct our path. We pray for all Americans who are searching for direction and meaning in life. We give you the Look Inside ministry and ask you to use it to draw people closer to you through your Word. Open their eyes, ears, and hearts to experience a deeper understanding of your love.
