Leaders of House Churches in the New Testament

The early church did not have an official place to meet. Instead they met in the homes of local believers. Check out this chart of different house church leaders.

The Greek word for “church” (ekklesia) means “assembly” or “gathering.” The first churches met in the homes of Christians to pray, sing hymns, read the scriptures, and share “love meals” together. Although little is known about the individuals listed here, they are remembered as early followers of Christ who opened their homes for Christian fellowship or who led local groups of Christians.
