2 Thessalonians 2:14 GNT

In the fourteenth and final episode of our “Letters from Paul” video series, you’ll explore 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17, which contains Paul’s gentle encouragement for a church tormented with persecution and doubt.

This is the second letter Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica, which was one of the first churches he helped plant. While only a short time passed between his first and second letters, persecution in Thessalonica had grown much worse. The church was struggling to hold on to the truth of the gospel, so Paul wrote to remind them of God’s promises in Jesus Christ.

In this passage, Paul tells the Thessalonians how thankful he is for them as some of the earliest believers to hear and accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. He reminds them that they are called by God to be saved and that they possess Christ’s glory as sons and daughters of God. Because of these truths, Paul tells them that they can stand firm in their faith despite the persecution they face.

Watch and be inspired by Paul’s gentle encouragement to remain true to the gospel.
