When the Bible Society team in Ukraine first met 82-year-old Alina*, her village had been occupied by Russian soldiers for several terrifying months. She was distraught, withdrawn, and weary. She accepted a Bible with little emotion.

The team returned six months later to find a remarkable change in Alina! With joy on her face, she explained how she had been reading her new Bible by candlelight when there was no electricity. “Now, there is peace and tranquility in my heart,” she says. “Even when there are explosions, I know there is One who can protect me.”

After nearly three years of war, millions of people remain in dangerous combat zones in desperate need of humanitarian and spiritual assistance. The elderly, children, widows, and soldiers who have experienced unspeakable trauma need the hope found in the Gospel of Jesus through the Bibles you help provide.

Despite the danger, the Bible Society in Ukraine has distributed over 100,000 Bibles since the war began. They have also conducted thousands of Bible-based trauma healing groups to help hurting survivors find comfort, peace, and emotional healing.

Alina is grateful for the new Ukrainian Bible you helped provide. She reminds us that the need for Bibles in Ukraine is urgent. Your commitment to sharing the Word of God is transforming lives and spreading hope where it is needed most and we are grateful!
